Pierre Fabre has developed a technique for the extraction of active ingredients without water or solvents

22.06.2020

Pierre Fabre announced the launch of a new technique for extracting the pure sap from plants, which is incorporated as active ingredients in cosmetic or nutraceutical products. Entitled "Green Native Expression", the new technology from the French laboratory is based on a natural extraction process, without added water or solvents.

Green Native Expression uses fresh and unprocessed plants. They are subjected, during a very short period of time, to high pressures and strong temperature variations. The thermomechanical process thus generated leads to the destructuring of plant walls and the neutralization of enzymes while preserving the native molecules contained in the plant sap. The plant's water is thus released and then acts as a solvent. A 100% pure sap is then recovered, without any transformation, and the active substances are intact.

Finally, Pierre Fabre notes that the Green Native Expression method makes it possible to obtain higher yields of active ingredients than those obtained by a conventional pressing or solvent extraction process.
